Frequently asked questions — CE Μηχανημάτων

Who signs the technical file?+

The technical file and risk assessment are prepared by a competent chartered engineer, so the Directive’s essential safety requirements are met.

Is a notified body required?+

For most machinery the manufacturer self-declares conformity. For Annex IV (high-risk) machinery a notified body is required — we guide you.

Does it cover used/re-built machinery?+

A substantial modification of a machine may make it “new” under the Directive. We assess whether new CE marking is required.

How much does “CE Marking of Machinery (2006/42/EC)” cost?+

It depends on the scope, size and complexity. The initial assessment is free and you receive a clear, transparent quote with no hidden charges.

Who is technically responsible for the project?+

The work is carried out and signed off by a qualified chartered engineer, so that all legal and technical requirements are fully met.

How long does it take?+

Usually a few days to a few weeks depending on the scope. We give you a clear timeline from the start.

Is re-inspection or renewal required?+

Many industrial certifications and inspections require periodic repetition or updating. We inform you of the exact schedule and handle the re-inspections too.

Do you cover all of Greece?+

Yes, we undertake projects and on-site surveys throughout the country, by arrangement.
